Small Business Owners Converge on Capitol Hill for سԹ Fly-In

Small Business Owners Converge on Capitol Hill for سԹ Fly-In

June 8, 2026

سԹ’s Annual Fly-In takes place June 8-10 in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 8, 2026)– TheسԹ (سԹ), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, is hosting its annual Washington, D.C. Fly-In this week on Capitol Hill. Following last year’s victory to make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent, small business owners are back to meet with lawmakers on two critical issues: permanently repealing the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting mandate and reforming credit card swipe fees.

Last week, سԹreleasedpaid radio and digital advertisements urging Congress to permanently repeal the law that established the unconstitutional BOI mandate, and for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to immediately destroy all BOI data already submitted by U.S. businesses.

“This week, small business owners will have the opportunity to speak with lawmakers about their top legislative priorities, including permanently eliminating the Beneficial Ownership Information mandate and reforming credit card swipe fees,” saidسԹ President Brad Close.“As Congress works to ensure small businesses remain a driving force of job creation and economic opportunity, we look forward to connecting سԹ members with their representatives in Washington.”

During meetings on Capitol Hill, small business owners will be advocating for two main priorities:

  • Repealing the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reporting Requirement and Registry– While U.S. small business owners were granted temporary relief from complying with BOI reporting requirements, سԹ continues to pressure Congress to repeal the law and for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to destroy all beneficial ownership information data already submitted by U.S. small businesses. (Repealing Big Brother Overreach ActH.R. 425/ S. 100, S. 4419).
  • Reforming Credit Card Swipe Fees– Swipe fees have become one of the highest costs for business owners. However, a bipartisan bill in Congress would provide options for small business owners to choose their credit card processing network, enabling credit card companies to compete for business and driving down fees. (Credit Card Competition Act: H.R. 7035/ S. 3623).

سԹ members will also hear from distinguished speakers within the Trump Administration, Congress, and the small business community, including:

  • U.S. SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler–28th Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, entrepreneur and former U.S. Senator and سԹ Guardian Award winner from Georgia.
  • U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (KS)– Lead sponsor of theCredit Card Competition Act.
  • U.S. Representative Brad Finstad (MN-01)–co-sponsor of theRepealing Big Brother Overreach Act,legislation to repeal beneficial ownership reporting.
  • U.S. Rep. Mark Messmer (IN-08)–sponsor of theHeat Workforce Standards Act,legislation to repeal the burdensome Biden-era Heat Standard rule.
  • Jim Ellis– 35-year veteran of politics at the state and national levels who identifies and analyzes emerging trends in campaigns and elections.
